About Glory Road

How the project started

Glory Road started as a bar argument about football: who would win a match between Kaká's 2007 European champion Milan and Manchester United's 1999 Treble side? The answer turned into a game. It's an independent project, maintained by one person in their spare time, with no affiliation to any club, league, or UEFA — a hobby that grew.

How it works

You build a squad by picking players from real historic rosters, each carrying the overall rating and position from the season they actually played. Squads sharing a club, national team, or league earn chemistry bonuses. Then you simulate knockout matches against other legendary squads — drawn at random — until you decide who takes home the imaginary trophy. Full rules are on the How to Play page.

Where the data comes from

Every available squad was hand-picked and reviewed with verifiable historical context — none of it is auto-generated. Overalls and positions are editorial estimates based on how each player actually performed in the season depicted, not a copy of any official video game database.

How the site pays for itself

Glory Road is free, funded by Google AdSense ads shown only outside gameplay screens (never during the draft, a match, or penalties) — plus a small affiliate product store that earns a commission at no extra cost to buyers. Those two revenue sources cover the cost of keeping the site running.
